Cantores was formed in 1991 and very quickly established a reputation for the
high standard of its chamber singing. We sing mostly a capella, in beautiful
churches in the Cotswolds. Sometimes we join forces with other groups, most
notably with The Anonymous Singers to sing the Mozart Requiem in Merton College,
Oxford in 2004 and with The Cirencester band for a Christmas concert in 2003.
Our members come mainly from Cirencester, Cheltenham, Swindon and villages in-between.
We rehearse on Mondays in term time, at Rendcomb College (on the A435 between Cheltenham and Cirencester) from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
Prospective members are invited to join us for a couple of rehearsals and then there is an informal audition. A reasonable level of sight-reading ability is expected.
