Cantores presents a reflective programme of music exploring some of the themes associated with the seasons of Lent and Passiontide. One of Bach’s best-loved choral works, his motet Jesu meine Freude is paired with James MacMillan’s deeply moving setting of the Miserere. The programme also includes motets by Lassus, Byrd and Schütz, alongside 20th Century English works by Howells and Sanders.
